Athos Finance is a delta-one asset protocol that operates on the Moonbeam platform. Through the protocol, users can generate and trade a broad spectrum of synthetic assets. It mimics the price movements of various assets, including cryptocurrencies, commodities, foreign currencies, and market indices. The primary objective is to offer on-chain exposure to prices globally, without the requirement of possessing or trading the underlying assets.

What Exactly is Athos Finance?
Athos Finance is a pioneering decentralized delta-one asset protocol on Moonbeam. It offers a unique opportunity for users to gain on-chain price exposure through synthetic assets. These synthetic assets provide infinite liquidity and no slippage. Thus, it makes them a popular choice for users around the world who want to participate in various asset classes without the need for owning or transacting the actual assets themselves.
In practical terms, users can leverage their ATH tokens (and eventually other collaterals) to create $athUSD against the collateral value. By participating in this process, users can join the Athos debt pool and gain access to a broad range of synthetic assets that track the price behavior of digital assets, commodities, forex, and market indices.
The Features of Athos Finance
The Athos Product Suite ensures the smooth functioning of Athos Finance. It has three main pillars: Buildr, Exchange, and Vault & Debt Terminator. Additionally, each of these pillars performs critical functions.
Athos Buildr
Athos Buildr is the starting point to access the Athos Product Suite. It allows users to stake ATH to create athUSD, the main currency of the Athos Ecosystem. With $athUSD, users can invest in all products within the ecosystem. In the future, users will also be able to stake other on-chain assets as the debt pool is upgraded to multi-collateral. Building athUSD involves taking on the risk of the debt pool and acting as a pooled counterparty against all synthetic asset trades on Athos Finance.
As a result, users are eligible for weekly staking rewards in ATH and a portion of Athos Exchange transaction fees. Eligible users can claim these rewards through the Claim function in Athos Buildr, provided that their P-ratio is above the Target P-ratio at the time of claiming. Users can also use the burn function to increase their P-ratio without staking additional assets or to unstake assets from the Buildr and unlock their collaterals.
Athos Exchange
With athUSD in hand, users can engage in trading synthetic asset positions on Athos Exchange. This platform provides users with the opportunity to open long or short positions on a variety of synthetic assets, as well as leverage their positions up to 4x. Notably, all trades on Athos Exchange are executed with infinite liquidity and without slippage.
The Athos Exchange also offers a dashboard for users to manage all their trading positions in one place. This dashboard provides a comprehensive overview of users’ portfolios, as well as their historical performance. By being able to analyze their trades retrospectively and stay up to date on live trading positions, users can make informed decisions and act quickly based on market trends.
Athos Vault and Debt Terminator
Athos Finance provides users with two options to generate passive income with athUSD. Firstly, they can deposit their athUSD into Athos Vault, which is a single-sided vault that allows users to earn passive income without getting exposed to impermanent loss. Alternatively, users can supply liquidity to Athos trading pairs on DEX. It provides higher APY in ATH and other cryptocurrencies compared to depositing into the single-sided vault.
Users can also utilize athUSD to buyout accounts that are potentially at risk with Athos Debt Terminator. This will allow users to earn penalties of up to 10% of the liquidated amount depending on the collateral type, incentivizing them to protect the health of the protocol. Athos Debt Terminator allows users to view a full list of accounts available for buyout and take over a portion of the collateral to bring them back to Target P-ratio.
