MEXC Blog Interview With Ajuna Team

In this blog interview, you’ll find insights about the Ajuna project. In an event hosted by MEXC, you will meet Ajuna team.

MEXC:Briefly introduce Ajuna; what type of infrastructure is it?

Ajuna:Ajuna Network makes the world’s leading game development engines — Unity and Unreal — fully integrated with the world of blockchain-based assets, enabling developers and game studios to create high-quality, decentralized games, without compromising on gameplay.

Real Value: Gamers can own and control in-game virtual assets through a public and decentralized blockchain. Never again will their hard-earned weapons, clothing and items be rendered worthless by the decisions of game company executives.

Real Games: Ajuna games can be created with industry-leading development platforms, while latency is massively reduced by running game engines in powerful, off-chain trusted execution environments (TEEs) linked to the Polkadot blockchain network.

MEXC:What is the value proposition for developers and gamers?

Ajuna:Ajuna Network is a decentralized gaming platform that delivers real value to gamers, without compromising on gameplay. It empowers you to truly own your in-game assets, protect and control their functionality, and have a voice in the future of the games you love.

Ajuna Network is also the fastest way for developers and game studios to create high-quality, decentralized games. It seamlessly integrates industry-leading game engines — Unity and Unreal — with the world of blockchain-based assets.

  • Unity and Unreal Support: Add a tokenized incentive layer to any Unity or Unreal game within minutes. Alternatively, use our dedicated SDK, toolbox, and API to fully integrate blockchain-based assets into your game using complex logic and dynamic game mechanics.
  • Performance: No more smart contract delays. Our layer-2 solution enables entire game engines involving intricate logic to be deployed in powerful, off-chain trusted execution environments (TEEs) linked to the Polkadot network. This massively speeds up response times compared to other blockchain games.
  • Interoperability: Polkadot’s Cross-Consensus Message Format (XCMP) enables new possibilities for interoperability between games and in-game assets.

MEXC:What is Ajuna’s token economic model, and what are the usage scenarios?

Ajuna:AJUN and BAJU are Ajuna’s utility tokens for Polkadot and Kusama respectively. In addition, three other types of assets can be integrated into games hosted on Ajuna: GAME Tokens, Trustscore tokens, and playable NFTs.

AJUN will be Ajuna’s primary token on Polkadot. It will be used to deploy games, pay transaction fees, access services, governance and staking. AJUN is scheduled to launch in Q2 2023.

BAJU will be Ajuna’s primary token on Kusama, Polkadot’s canary network. It will enable users to launch games, pay fees, and access services on the parachain.

MEXC:Are there any games currently being launched on Ajuna?

Ajuna:Awesome Ajuna Avatars (AAA)

The Awesome Ajuna Avatars is an NFT-collective game based on the heroes of Ajuna and is the first game launching on the Ajuna Network. It is meant to have a series of every game that will be launched on Ajuna. The first season is based around the Mogwai creatures from BattleMogs, Ajuna’s flagship game. AAA will be interoperable within the Ajuna ecosystem.

BattleMogs

Mogwais are a unique, mysterious, and mischievous species that love to battle for alpha status. Breed, nurture, train, equip, and battle with each of your Mogwai to create the strongest tribe. Every mogwai has an intrinsic motivation from birth to be the best. Therefore, it is not surprising that duels against other Mogwais are one of Mogwai’s main obsessions. In traditional duels, they fight for glory and honor. In battle, they will use any means to gain a competitive advantage.

MEXC:Can you introduce the background of Ajuna’s core team and fundraising situation?

Ajuna:Ajuna team’s DNA starts with a love of games and user generated experiences. BattleMogs (previously DOTMog) was the starting point over 4 years ago. Trying to create and deploy an onchain game with player ownership and governance was our goal. In our journey to solve infrastructural problems and create new tools, Ajuna was born.

The founding team has a deep experience both in the blockchain and gaming sector and an entrepreneurial background. Ajuna Network has completed two rounds of financing for a total raise of $6.6M, backed from investors such as Animoca Brands, Fundamental Labs, Signum Capital, Master Ventures and IVC among others.

MEXC:In terms of the development direction of Ajuna, what are the similarities and differences compared to Flow and Immutable X?

Ajuna:First of all, like Flow and Immutable, our highest goal is to drive mainstream adoption by making the transition into Web3 as seamless as possible. With Ajuna Network we have a Layer 1 Blockchain, which is dedicated to the gaming purpose, and can adapt a lot faster to this purpose. With on-chain runtime modules, runtime upgrades and trusted execution environments, we are set to shape the future of gaming, and pursue a multichain future, where only the player is put back to the driver seat.

MEXC:Why is web3 gaming such an interesting topic right now? How does Ajuna see the ecosystem?

Ajuna:Gaming and gamers in general are very well suited to the concept of digital ownership. For years we have valued in-game items and assets because of their usage and functionality. Web3 and blockchain technology specifically can add that ownership layer to these items.

At Ajuna we are building towards the future of meaningful ownership of digital items in the gaming space.

MEXC:What are your plans for the near future?

Ajuna:We are currently focused on our products and onboarding games onto the Bajun Network. With the launch of the Awesome Ajuna Avatars in January we get to onboard the first community for our flagship game, BattleMogs.
