FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is around the corner and Visa is gearing up for some amazing NFT projects. Visa, the official payment partner for the FIFA World Cup 2022, unveiled Visa Masters of Movement – the first of its type in the NFT extravaganza and football history. The Visa Masters of Movement auction is a collaboration with crypto.com showcasing digital art inspired by five renowned players’ goals. It features World Cup goals from Jared Borgetti (Mexico), Tim Cahill (Australia), Carli Lloyd (U.S.), Michael Owen (England), and Maxi Rodríguez (Argentina).
Each NFT is made up of colorful loops dependent on the motions of each player as they approach their goal. The pieces are painted in the player’s national team colors. It also indicates the World Cup in which the goal was scored, the day it was scored, and the minute of the match in which it was scored. The experience will come to life on an interactive pitch at the FIFA Fan Festival soon. During this period, fans can create digital art inspired by their own trademark gestures. They will also be able to include this digital art into their own NFT.
The auction will last until November 8, 2022, where all earnings goes to Street Child United, a charity established in the UK. Andrea Fairchild, Visa’s senior vice president and head of sponsorships mentioned that:
“It is a global movement that tackles the widespread stigma that street-connected children face”
Steven Kalifowitz, chief marketing officer at Crypto.com, also stated that:
“The FIFA World Cup is one of the most anticipated sporting events in the world, and we are incredibly excited to give fans a new way to engage with this epic event,”
“We are thrilled to partner with Visa in bringing Visa Masters of Movement to life and offering fans the opportunity to create and collect the most unique collectibles at FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 that will live forever on the blockchain.”
