1. EigenLayer
EigenLayer is the first and the most anticipated project to launch its crypto airdrops in 2024. This protocol on the Ethereum network enables users to stake their liquid staking tokens (LSTs).
Users receive LSTs as receipt tokens for staking Ether (ETH) on platforms like Lido, RocketPool, and Coinbase Earn. EigenLayer enables these LSTs to be restaked, bringing crypto-economic security to rollups and decentralized apps (dApps).
Developers generating new rollups or dApps can use their network’s integrated security rather than building a new validator network. Restaked coins are collateral, therefore operators must act honestly or risk losing their holdings.
According to The Block’s official website, the EigenLayer development team has announced that they will issue a crypto airdrop for staking users between May and September 2024.
2. LayerZero
LayerZero is the next project that will most likely conduct its own crypto airdrop. LayerZero Labs, the developers of the cross-chain communication protocol, previously performed an initial snapshot that looks to be relevant to future airdrop distribution to its community members.
This snapshot, which reflects the last time transactions were considered eligible for the forthcoming airdrop, was taken on May 1, 2024.
